Team 498 is a FIRST Robotics Competition team based at Cactus High School in Glendale, Arizona, welcoming students from across the Peoria Unified School District. Through the FRC program, students take on the challenge of designing and building a new robot each season—an experience that builds practical engineering skills while also teaching teamwork, communication, and project management in a structured, supportive environment. Even for families unfamiliar with robotics, the impact is unmistakable: students learn how to think critically, solve complex problems, and perform under pressure, all while working toward ambitious goals.
FRC also gives students a real advantage when planning for college. Participants become eligible for millions of dollars in FIRST‑specific scholarships each year, and the hands‑on experience they gain stands out on applications by demonstrating leadership, technical ability, and long‑term commitment. Team 498 is dedicated to offering one of the strongest STEM pathways in Arizona—preparing students for life beyond high school while pushing to be the most competitive and high‑performing FRC program in the state.
